Job Overview

This pivotal role combines web development with systems administration to oversee our WordPress environment and Amazon AWS systems. You will collaborate with our in-house teams and coordinate with contractors to enhance our IT infrastructure and data engineering capabilities.


Responsibilities

  • WordPress Management: Oversee the maintenance, security, and troubleshooting of multiple WordPress sites; regularly update plugins and core, and develop custom themes and plugins.
  • Systems Administration: Manage our Amazon AWS infrastructure, ensuring robust security and efficient operation of services like EC2, Route 53, S3, RDS, and IAM.
  • Technical Consulting: Provide expert advice and insights on IT project design and implementation to our Account Directors.
  • Project Coordination: Utilize a Scrum-based approach to coordinate with contractors, ensuring effective task assignment and adherence to project timelines.
  • Data Engineering: Conduct SQL analysis, manage ETL pipelines, and oversee data warehousing and reporting.
  • Analytics Setup: Configure and manage tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio to inform business decisions.
  • Troubleshooting and System Debugging: Resolve issues across systems including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, REST APIs, Zapier, and other SaaS tools.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in web development and systems administration, with a strong background in managing WordPress and Amazon AWS.
  • Skilled in data engineering and familiar with analytics tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Solutions oriented, with a strong ability to help business users articulate their needs.


Employment Logistics

This role reports to the CEO. Communication with the team is handled primarily through Slack, Trello, and Basecamp. We anticipate approximately 25 hours of work per week, growing to full time by the end of 2024.


Benefits & Perks:
Hourly Rate: $90 – $120 per hour, based on qualifications
